Easter 2010

EASTER JOY

Jesus came to earth,
To show us how to live,
How to put others first,
How to love and how to give.

Then He set about His work,
That God sent Him to do;
He took our punishment on Himself;
He made us clean and new.

He could have saved Himself,
Calling angels from above,
But He chose to pay our price for sin;
He paid it out of love.

Our Lord died on Good Friday,
But the cross did not destroy
His resurrection on Easter morn
That fills our hearts with joy.

Now we know our earthly death,
Like His, is just a rest.
We'll be forever with Him
In heaven, where life is best.

So we live our lives for Jesus,
Think of Him in all we do.
Thank you Savior; Thank you Lord.
Help us love like you!

What a difference a couple of months make! Ethan has adjusted very well to all of the changes we have implemented: drinking whole milk, eating table food, saying bye-bye to the bottle, napping twice a day at specific times, and sleeping through the night in his OWN bed. The latter being of utmost importance!

When Ethan started teething, he stopped sleeping through the night. We'd usually go in and rock him back to sleep or give him the paci. While I was sick, it was much more convenient to just put him in the bed with us. Talk about developing a bad habit! Not only was Ethan having trouble sleeping, but we weren't sleeping well either. Before having a child, we said we would never let him/her sleep in our bed. God taught us a valuable lesson: when it comes to raising kids never say never! After several weeks of letting Ethan "cry it out" during nap time and bed time, he finally learned to self-pacify. It was difficult hearing him scream and cry in protest, but it was for the best. Now, he goes down in his own bed with ease, usually falling asleep and waking up without even crying. Praise the Lord!

Ethan and I also started attending Bible Study Fellowship once a week at West Acres Baptist Church. They recently created a two and under class, during which they convey God's truth by telling Bible stories and singing hymns. We have been studying the book of John together. Sean and I are so thankful for the opportunity to have others come alongside us in influencing Ethan's heart for Christ.

Ethan has begun to have regular play dates, which has also been a blessing. It has been fun watching him interact with his peers; his lighthearted personality shines through. He is 100% boy… bold and adventurous… he plays roughly and laughs loudly and gets into absolutely everything. He is also just like his dad in that He’s fascinated by how things work. Will he follow in daddy’s footsteps and grow up to be a future IT professional? We shall see...

With thankful hearts,
Michele & Sean

“Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name.” Hebrews 13:15
