1 Thessalonians 5:16
July was a busy, busy month. We celebrated birthdays, went on road trips, and spent lots of precious time with family and friends. Ethan continues to explore the world around him with wonder and enthusiasm. He likes to run and play and climb. He enjoys reading books; playing the "tickle" game and "Superman"; cooling off at the water park; doodling and coloring; dancing; and driving his cars on, over, under, around, and through everything.

We traveled to Douglasville for the weekend to visit Ethan's Great Grandmother on her 80th birthday.

Ethan and Michele went to Birmingham for a week to help Uncle Bryan take care of Caleb, while Auntie Katie was away on a youth trip. They built forts and railroads, played with the water table, and went shopping for cars (toy cars, that is). Auntie Katie and Caleb baked some yummy cookies for Michele's birthday.

We took a day trip with family and friends to Atlanta for Michele's birthday and visited the Georgia Aquarium.

Cousins Asher, Eli, and Abi stayed with Mimi and Papa Charlie during the last week of July. We were able to do all sorts of fun things together. We took a trip to Lexington to visit Granny and Papa. We spent one day at the playground and water park. The boys even spent one night at our house, mostly playing Lego Star Wars on the Xbox 360.

We also had the rare opportunity to celebrate Asher's birthday on the actual day he was born, July 30. The Star Wars themed party was a blast, complete with Darth Vader masks, a light saber birthday cake, and Lego Star Wars building sets. Since we would not get to be with Uncle Ian on his birthday (August 10), we had a cake and gifts for him as well.

Nama has been teaching Ethan how to play golf. Below is a short clip of him teeing up and taking a swing at the ball.
Turn the volume way up and check out this video of Ethan getting his groove on to Yo Gabba Gabba!
