Isaiah 12:2
Ethan has gone through many changes since he turned 18 months old. Most notably, he became picky eater. One week he'd love green beans, then the next week not so much. Up until then, Ethan would gobble up anything you put in front of him! Upon the advice of my wonderful sister-in-law, Katie, we kept offering vegetables as well as a variety of different foods, and he is now at the point where he will at least try what we give him. He is totally like his Mommy and Daddy in that he loves pasta and starchy foods. His absolute favorite thing to eat is blueberries, with strawberries as a close second.

September was particularly challenging because Ethan had an ear infection, as well as ongoing issues with allergies. In addition, his two year molars started coming in. Top it off with dropping his morning nap and it's a recipe for disaster. Call us crazy, but it was right around this time that we tried weaning him off of the paci. It. Did. Not. Stick. Needless to say, Ethan spent lots of nights sleeping in the bed with Mommy and Daddy.
Some highlights for September included our family vacation to Destin and resuming Bible Study Fellowship classes. Papa Charlie and Mimi rented a house at the beach for a week, where Ethan fully enjoyed swimming in the pool and playing in the sand. Mommy and Daddy went on a snorkeling excursion in Panama City Beach and saw some Dolphins. We were especially thankful for the opportunity to spend time with Uncle Ian and his family.

October was an eventful month. Ethan took his first trip to Birmingham WITHOUT Mommy and Daddy over the Columbus Day weekend. He had a blast tailgating at a football game and playing at the railroad park. We were able to catch up on some much needed sleep while he was away, but it was definitely a joy to have him back. We also had the opportunity to stay at a beach house on Fripp Island in South Carolina. The weather was fabulous, and we had many encounters with the wildlife. Ethan was the cutest little giraffe for Halloween! We took him trick-or-treating in Nama's neighborhood, and he has since enjoyed his first taste of candy.

Michele and Ethan are studying the book of Isaiah in BSF. They have been learning about God's judgment and redemption. It is such a blessing to know that God is in control and that He is always with us. He is our "Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace." We praise Him for being our sufficiency for every moment of every day.
