Couples Baby Shower for Auntie Katie and Uncle Bryan

Uncle Bryan and Auntie Katie are expecting a precious baby girl in April. They have chosen the name Grace Anne, and Cousin Caleb is excited to be a big brother. We hosted a baby shower for them with a vintage toys theme (lots of inspiration was received from this blog post at Party Love). Katie's mom gave us several of Katie's childhood toys to use as decorations for the shower, which added a personal touch. We played some really fun games, including the Baby Shower Candy Bar game. We had each guest fill out a note to Grace (inspired by these Wishes for Baby cards) to be placed in the scrapbook album that Michele made. The mommies were also asked to write a special note of encouragement in a book for Katie--including a Bible verse and/or reasons why Katie is a good mom--as a reminder of God's love and providence...ESPECIALLY during those challenging days of mommyhood (this fabulous idea was featured on Jack and Izzy's blog). Most of the guests all went to high school together, so it was an awesome opportunity to see each other again and share this special occasion.
